The Mermaid Adventures of Karma Karmelita

This post is long overdue, especially considering the shoot is one of my favorite shoots. Ever.

I met the belly dancer/fire-eater/mermaid performer Karma Karmelita over the summer when we got together for a belly dancing photo shoot with her and belly dancer Danielle (you can see photos from that session HERE).

That shoot went so well that we decided to work together again on an exciting underwater project!

We drove to the beautiful Vortex Springs in Ponce de Leon from Pensacola, and we spent several hours in the icy spring, creating these captivating images.

The staff at Vortex Springs were very helpful and accommodating during our time there, and it's definitely worth the drive to the spring! 

Karmelita's grace underwater is evident in these photos; watching her swim is like watching her dance--beautiful, lively, and fluid.
